CREECO inaugurates $208M Odea Montreal complex
CREECO鈥擳he white fa莽ade of Odea Montreal, made of pre-stressed concrete, is intended to reflect purity and solidity, the designer stated.

MONTREAL鈥擟ree-owned CREECO, the parent company of Eeyou Eenou Realty Properties, celebrated the inauguration its 26-storey mixed-use residential project in Montreal recently.

Other collaborators on the $208-million Odea Montreal complex are Cogir Immobilier, Lemay and Indigenous architect Douglas Cardinal.

Odea Montreal is located between Old Montreal and Griffintown on a site owned by the James Bay Crees since 1995. The residence features 367 rental apartments, 68 condominiums and office and retail space.

The complex integrates various architectural elements that evoke stone, wood, greenery, nature and light, stated a release.

The name 鈥淥dea鈥 is inspired by the Cree word 鈥渙de,鈥 meaning canoe. The white facade, made of pre-stressed concrete, is intended to reflect purity and solidity, while the interior courtyard features finishes reminiscent of tree hues, as if observing a split log, the designer stated.

鈥淥dea Montreal stands as a testament to the vision and strength of our people,鈥 said Derrick Neeposh, president of the Cree Regional Economic Enterprises Company (CREECO), in a statement. 鈥淚t is not just a building; it is a symbol of our commitment to sustainable growth, cultural pride and the economic empowerment of the Cree Nation. Our partnership with Cogir Immobilier in bringing this vision to life marks a new chapter in our journey toward self-sufficiency and resilience.”
